If you would like to start waking up earlier in the mornings take it slow at first and give yourself time to adjust. For many, climbing out of bed early morning can sometimes seem like a daunting task. You may be very tempted to hit that snooze button once the alarm clock goes off.
The following are some benefits of waking up early.
1. Watch the sunrise
Try this! Pour up a hot drink of your choice such as coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and head outside. Find a place to sit down and have your drink while you watch the sun, hear the birds chirping, and breathe in the fresh morning air.
2. Increases energy
Getting up early not only gives you a head start on your day, it will give you a boost of energy and confidence that will remain with you throughout the entire day.
3. Allows you to plan for the day ahead
Go over your tasks and goals for the day. Maybe you need to write out a shopping list, plan dinner, or set up a meeting. Whatever you have going on, there is no better time than a quiet morning alone to get it figured out.
4. Gives you a feeling of peace
Enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book, or surf the internet without any interruptions. Do you have a hobby such as knitting, painting, or sewing? Maybe you would like to start a project but could never find the time to do so.
5. Enhances productivity
After waking up from a good night's sleep, your brain is charged and ready for the day ahead. There are also less distractions in the early hours of the day leading you to achieve more with minimal or no interruptions.
Since late risers usually tend to skip breakfast, their mind and body are not getting the nutrients needed to be able to focus and move. Eating breakfast is the foundation for building healthy eating habits and makes you less likely to eat junk food during the day.
7. Become more fit
Early morning exercise helps to get rid of sluggishness, reduce fat, and give you an overall feeling of lightness and joy.
8. Catch up on chores
Work on cleaning one area of your home or do a quick clean throughout your home. This save so much time during the day, especially if you have young children running around.
9. Sleep better
Early risers often go to bed early. It is best to follow an early morning routine on a regular basis. This will lead to better sleep as your body's internal clock adapts to your new routine.
10. Reduces stress
For some people, hitting the snooze button becomes so much of a habit. They end up hitting snooze right up until just minutes before needing to be at work or an appointment. Waking up earlier will give you a chance to take things a little more slowly and be ready for your day.
